WHY SOUND EXISTS
Every parent who found the right specialist had someone help them search. Most don't.
SOUND is India's first verified directory connecting neurodivergent individuals and families to credentialed specialists (doctors, therapists, and educators trained in these conditions) — indexed, verified, and searchable. We are in our founding phase, building and verifying the first listings now.
“We spent four years in Bengaluru. Three different diagnoses, two therapists who’d never worked with a non-verbal child. We didn’t know there was a better way to search.”— Parent of an 8-year-old with non-verbal autism, BengaluruComposite account based on family surveys. Names withheld.
Our Focus: The Full Spectrum.
SOUND prioritises high-support-need presentations — intellectual disability, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, and cerebral palsy — because these represent the largest verified-access gaps in India. The directory covers the full spectrum of neurodivergent experience: neurodevelopmental conditions, learning differences, genetic syndromes, neurological conditions, sensory processing differences, gender identity considerations in neurodivergent populations, and psychiatric conditions with neurodivergent overlap.
The directory is freely accessible to neurodivergent individuals — including adults navigating late or missed diagnosis — families, and loved ones. No clinical context is assumed — access and utility are the only criteria.
“Real-life challenges change nothing without credentialed, structurally verified support. We are building the infrastructure that closes that access gap.”
THE SOUND PHILOSOPHY
THE SYSTEMIC PROBLEM
Why SOUND Exists
India's support ecosystem for neurologically diverse individuals — care facilities, therapy providers, special schools, residential homes — remains largely unregulated and unverified. National reports and family testimonies consistently document significant variation in quality, with families sometimes encountering settings that caused harm rather than provided help.
While clinical specialties are regulated by bodies like the RCI and NMC, broad sectors of auxiliary behavioural and educational support lack unified standardisation. A practitioner can offer unregulated coaching without mandatory disability-specific oversight or accountability. The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 provides legal protections — but most individuals and families lack the knowledge or resources to enforce them.
Without a structured way to cross-reference, verify, and compare providers, neurodivergent individuals and their families navigate this alone. SOUND exists to resolve that — by making statutory compliance, environmental suitability, and practitioner scope transparent and searchable.
OPERATIONAL MANDATE
What we actually do.
We find professionals
Exhaustive research to identify professionals equipped for neurologically diverse support — clinical, legal, financial. Starting in Goa.
We synthesise and review
Every professional we list goes through our 3-point verification protocol. No self-reporting. We systematically cross-reference statutory registration data and environmental parameters.
We connect you
A structurally verified, scored directory — built so neurodivergent individuals, families, and loved ones can find credentialed support without guesswork. First verified listings: Q3 2026, Goa.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
What we refuse to compromise on.
Verified credentials — not just self-reported claims
We require professionals with verified credentials against public registries. Registered, licensed, and ND-aligned practice is not negotiable.
Structured support over awareness
Structured access to credentialed specialists changes daily outcomes for individuals managing 24/7 care realities. Verified, practical support is the operational priority.
Reality over romanticism
Profound neurological disability involves real, daily operational difficulty. Real, verified support matters more than awareness alone.
Access over isolation
Neurodivergent individuals and families navigating high-support needs are systematically underserved — compounded by caste, economic status, geography, and language barriers. SOUND builds the infrastructure that eliminates those gaps.
Equitable, affirming care
Every person listed in our directory, and every person searching it, is treated with equal regard — regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, caste, religion, language, or economic background. This is not a position. It is a condition of participation.
OUR STANDARD
Built to the standard of India's statutory frameworks.
Every specialist listed on SOUND is cross-referenced against public statutory registries — not self-reported data. This is what makes the directory trustworthy for families and credible to the professionals listed on it.
National Medical Commission
Verified credentials for all listed medical practitioners
Rehabilitation Council of India
Allied health verification for every listed specialist
Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act
21-condition scope — our directory covers every listed presentation
Section 8 Non-Profit Compliance
CIN: U88900JH2024NPL022912 — publicly verifiable
INSTITUTIONAL LEADERSHIP
Who designed this infrastructure, and on what basis.

SOUND's verification methodology was designed from direct operational exposure to India's neurodevelopmental regulatory landscape — NMC registry gaps, RCI compliance variance, and the structural information asymmetry that leaves families navigating a system with no index.
India has no shortage of brilliant specialists. But the connectivity layer between credentialed professionals and the families managing Intellectual Disability, Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and complex neurodevelopmental needs is structurally absent. SOUND exists as the institutional infrastructure to close that gap.
“I know what it costs a family to search without a map. I spent years in that exact system. I built SOUND so no family in India has to navigate it blind again — and so the professionals who truly get it are never more than a search away.”

A note on scope
SOUND is a verified directory — not a clinical authority. We cross-check professional credentials against public statutory registries and assess whether their practice environment is suitable for neurodivergent individuals. We do not provide medical advice, clinical endorsements, or therapeutic referrals of any kind.
